A year ago Navistar was on the offensive about their independent stand with emissions regulations. Now they
are singled out and facing Federal government action. Their credits are now exhausted and they are exposed.
They are using a different system than the other manufacturers but they claim that ultimately they will be able
to mitigate emissions with their systems. This quote from truckinginfo.com sums up their position.
"Navistar remains confident in its EGR strategy and we will be submitting a 0.2 engine to EPA for certification very soon," said Navistar communications director Karen Denning. "Once certified, Navistar will be the only company to achieve 0.2 certification without the use of SCR."
It is getting late in the game for DEF tanks and emission regulations. Navistar is exposed as the manufacturers
are using the same system and are compliant. They are promising an ecological home run with this new system. Only time will tell....
